Celebrating Life's Small Moments in Vivid Color
Although I began painting at the age of 13, I did not start “actively” painting and selling my work until four years ago when I came out of the “art closet.” For the last 18 years, I have been following my husband around the world and country for his job in the United States Army. Our family of five have moved a total of 10 times thus far. Even though I went to college to become a nurse, my passion for art was always a part of me. When we landed in Washington, DC, I put together my studio and started to paint and share my work with friends, many of whom did not know that I was artistically talented. My love for watercolor brought me to many local art groups and I found my new friends in the art community. Through the encouragement of a close friend, I began teaching watercolor in my area and have taught over 70 students in just two years and I can now be found on SkillShare where more than 350 students have taken my watercolor classes.
Looking on my website and social media pages, you will see a variety of subject matters and series that I continue to build upon. My most recent paintings of birds stems from my current location in the Caribbean where I have become an avid wildlife watcher.
The series of Italian door fronts, evokes feelings of wontedness, curiosities, and past experiences from the viewer - moments when they knocked for a new opportunity, times when a door opened, wondering what is happening inside, or looking for the key to happiness. The constant changes in locations and moves have prompted this series for me and I hope to continue to expand upon it as I seek new opportunities in the art world.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
